Arttec Signs is proud to have completed work on a major new exhibition at the Royal Alberta Museum. Stories of Us: Building Alberta’s Collection explores how Alberta’s history is gathered, interpreted, and shared, inviting visitors to reflect not just on artifacts, but on the stories and choices behind them.

This thoughtfully designed exhibition challenges visitors to consider what is collected, what is overlooked, and why those decisions matter. Through a mix of large-scale wall murals, interpretive graphics, and carefully integrated visual elements, the gallery encourages curiosity and reflection while guiding visitors through the space in a clear, cohesive way.

Arttec supported the exhibition with custom environmental graphics that complement the museum’s curatorial vision. From bold yet restrained wall graphics to clean, readable interpretive panels, every element was designed to enhance storytelling without distracting from the artifacts themselves. The result is a modern, visually engaging environment that supports the exhibition’s themes while maintaining a timeless museum aesthetic.

Projects like Stories of Us highlight the collaborative nature of museum exhibitions. From curators and designers to fabricators and installers, every detail matters. Our team worked closely with the Royal Alberta Museum to ensure precision, durability, and visual clarity, meeting the high standards required for a permanent public institution while respecting the sensitivity of the subject matter.

We’re honoured to see this work featured beyond the museum walls as well. The exhibition, and the process behind it, was recently highlighted in a feature by CBC News, offering a behind-the-scenes look at how Alberta’s stories are thoughtfully collected and presented for future generations.

If you’re curious to learn more about the exhibit and the ideas behind it, we encourage you to watch the CBC News video feature and experience Stories of Us: Building Alberta’s Collection through the lens of those who helped bring it to life.

Bringing Bold Visions to Life at The Works Art & Design Festival

For 40 years, The Works Art & Design Festival has been transforming downtown Edmonton into a vibrant celebration of creativity, culture, and community. This year’s milestone event filled Churchill Square with over 100 visual artists, bringing life, color, and imagination to the heart of the city for 11 incredible days.

From large-scale installations to pop-up exhibits and hands-on experiences, the festival was a hub for art lovers and curious passersby alike. And at Arttec Signs, we were proud to play a small part in helping bring this dynamic event to life.

Creating Signage That Supports the Arts

As with many public events, signage plays a critical role in creating a welcoming, organized, and visually cohesive experience. This year, Arttec Signs was proud to contribute to The Works by producing high-quality signage, including eye-catching sandwich boards that helped guide and inform guests throughout the festival grounds.

Designed for both form and function, these signs offered important information while complementing the artistic energy of the event. Durable, weather-resistant, and visually aligned with the festival’s identity, they played a vital part in enhancing the visitor experience.

Spotlight: The Gateway Arches

One of the festival’s most iconic elements each year is the set of Gateway Arches, massive, visually stunning entrance pieces that welcome guests into the celebration. This year, Arttec Signs had the privilege of producing these arches once again.

Spanning approximately 45 feet wide by 20 feet high, the arches were printed on our state-of-the-art 16-foot-wide printer to ensure exceptional clarity and color reproduction. The final result was not just signage, it was art.

Each year, the Gateway Arches showcase a new artist’s vision, and this year’s featured work, titled “You’re in it now” by Dwayne Martineau, was both beautiful and thought-provoking.

Artist Statement: Dwayne Martineau – “You’re in it now”

Dwayne Martineau’s work focuses on nature and the physicality of light, encouraging viewers to shift their perspective and see the natural world as a sentient presence. His imagery, created with real light and in-camera effects, transforms the familiar into something surreal, almost spiritual. With roots in Alberta’s forests and lakes, Martineau’s art elevates overlooked elements of nature and invites us to reconsider our place in it.

“Nature is put on the pedestal. We are the outsiders.”
~ Dwayne Martineau

His vision was printed and installed on the arches by our team with great care and precision, and we were honored to help bring his message to life at this scale.

Proud to Support 40 Years of Creativity

We’re grateful to have contributed to such a meaningful and enduring event in Edmonton’s cultural calendar. Supporting The Works Art & Design Festival is more than just printing, it’s about helping amplify creativity, create connections, and celebrate the power of public art.

From practical signage to monumental installations, Arttec Signs is committed to helping artists, organizations, and communities bring their ideas to life.

Why One-Time Vehicle Wrap Investment Could Be Your Hardest-Working Marketing Tool

When you’re running a small business, every investment needs to count, especially when it comes to marketing. Ads disappear. Flyers get tossed. Billboards stay stuck in one place. But what if your own work vehicle could do the selling for you?

At Arttec Signs, we help Alberta businesses turn everyday vehicles into rolling, round-the-clock marketing machines. With high-impact design and professional installation, vehicle wraps become more than just a visual upgrade, they become your hardest-working brand asset.

For small businesses navigating Alberta’s competitive market, investing in vinyl wraps through Arttec Signs could be the smartest, most cost-effective move you make all year.x

1. Your Vehicle Is Already a Marketing Tool, You Just Haven’t Branded It Yet

Turn commutes into customer impressions
If your vehicle is unmarked, you’re missing out on thousands of potential impressions every week. Think of how many eyes land on your car during a regular day: at red lights, in parking lots, on the highway, or parked in front of a job site. That’s marketing real estate you already own, you just haven’t activated it.

Unlike digital ads or print flyers, vinyl wraps in Alberta are a one-time cost that works 24/7. Rain or shine. Rush hour or parked overnight. Your vehicle becomes a silent salesman. And when that branding is done well? People notice.

2. Local Visibility Builds Local Trust

People do business with who they see
For small businesses in Alberta, plumbers, landscapers, electricians, HVAC techs, real estate agents, visibility is everything. A vinyl-wrapped vehicle creates a sense of permanence and legitimacy. It says, “We’re local. We’re professional. We’re here to stay.”

Customers are far more likely to trust a service provider with a clearly branded truck than one with a blank van. Especially in suburban neighborhoods and rural communities, seeing your name repeatedly on the road or parked at a neighbor’s house builds brand familiarity that can’t be replicated online.

3. Vinyl Wraps Deliver Impressive ROI Compared to Traditional Advertising

Lower cost, longer shelf life
Let’s talk numbers. Traditional media like billboards, radio ads, and newspaper placements require constant renewals. In contrast, high-quality vinyl wraps in Alberta can last 5–7 years with proper care. That’s years of exposure for a single investment.

Cost-per-impression on a wrap is staggeringly low, averaging just pennies per view over time. When you factor in the reach, longevity, and branding power, wraps often outperform other mediums in long-term return on investment.

Even for a small business with just one service vehicle, the math often makes sense within the first year. And the longer you keep the vehicle wrapped and visible, the more value it brings.

4. Wraps Help You Stand Out in a Saturated Market

Differentiation is your secret weapon
Let’s be honest, customers in Alberta have options. There are dozens of contractors, consultants, or service providers in nearly every niche. So why should they remember your business?

The answer might be on your tailgate.

A bold, well-designed vehicle wrap helps your brand cut through the noise. It turns heads. It triggers recognition. When someone sees your wrap five times before they need your service, you’re top of mind. When they Google “landscaper near me,” your name will already sound familiar, and that gives you a major edge.

Vinyl wraps in Alberta aren’t just decorative, they’re a strategic way to embed your brand into your community’s visual landscape.

5. Customization = Flexibility for Every Budget

Big impact doesn’t require a full wrap
Not ready for a full vehicle wrap? No problem. There are plenty of options that still deliver strong visibility without the full cost:

  • Partial wraps (just the sides or rear of the vehicle)
  • Spot graphics (logos, contact info, slogans)
  • Removable magnets for seasonal promotions

This makes vehicle branding accessible to even the leanest small business budgets. And when you’re ready to scale up, it’s easy to expand your wrap or update the design to include new services or branding elements.

Vinyl wraps in Alberta are scalable, flexible, and can evolve as your business grows.

6. Wraps Protect Your Vehicle Investment, Too

Marketing meets maintenance
It’s easy to forget that wraps offer more than just aesthetics. A quality vinyl wrap actually serves as a protective layer, shielding your vehicle’s original paint from UV rays, rock chips, salt, and minor abrasions, particularly useful in Alberta’s long winters and rugged roads.

That means when it’s time to resell or return your vehicle, the paint underneath remains in excellent condition, potentially improving resale value or avoiding costly wear-and-tear penalties on leased vehicles.

In this way, vinyl wraps in Alberta offer dual value: effective advertising and practical protection.

A Vehicle Wrap Is a Business Asset

A vehicle wrap from Arttec Signs isn’t just about good looks, it’s a business decision with real return. It promotes your brand with every trip, every stop, and every parked moment. It builds trust in your community. It generates leads while you’re stuck at a red light.

And with Alberta’s diverse weather, busy roads, and growing business scene, you need a wrap that’s built to last and designed to perform. Arttec Signs combines local expertise with national-quality materials to ensure your investment pays off for years.

At Arttec Signs, we believe that every space has the potential to tell a story, and few projects capture that spirit better than the stunning mural we recently produced and installed in the Rainbow Hallway at Walter Mackenzie Hospital. Stretching over 21 feet long, this breathtaking piece is more than just artwork—it’s a journey filled with meaning, warmth, and hope.

The mural features a group of children walking towards the Stollery Children’s Hospital, symbolizing the strength, resilience, and courage of the young patients and families who enter its doors. Every detail was thoughtfully designed, including personal touches that make it even more special. One standout element is Leo the Lion, a tribute to radio personality Chris Scheetz’s granddaughter, Leona. Another touching addition is K+C carved into a tree, representing Chris and his wife, Karen—a beautiful nod to their deep connection to the Stollery community.

Chris recently shared his heartfelt appreciation for the mural on Instagram, calling it one of the most incredible moments of his life. He reflected on the many families, staff, and supporters who have made the Stollery what it is today, emphasizing how this space is dedicated to them as much as it is to him. His words remind us of the impact that art can have—not just in transforming a hallway, but in celebrating the stories, memories, and love that fill the hospital’s walls.

We are truly honored to have played a role in bringing this vision to life. This mural is a vibrant and lasting tribute to the strength of the Stollery community, and we hope it brings comfort and joy to everyone who walks through the Rainbow Hallway.
