Wabamun Waterfront Park’s New Wayfinding Signage

,

A Landmark Project Rooted in Durability and Design

Our team at Arttec Signs recently completed a beautiful and functional signage package for Wabamun Waterfront Park, helping enhance both navigation and visitor experience along the lakefront. The project included around ten new signs, all designed to seamlessly blend with the park’s natural beauty while providing clear direction and information for visitors.

Built for Function and Longevity

From entrance monuments to directional panels, every sign at Wabamun Waterfront Park was designed with both strength and style in mind. The main entrance monument, standing roughly 12 feet wide by 6 feet tall, welcomes visitors with bold dimensional lettering and clean lines that reflect the park’s modern identity.

Across the site, the remaining wayfinding and information signs—about ten in total—were constructed using wrapped aluminum panels bent at 90 degrees and paired with durable aluminum posts. This fabrication method ensures each piece is weather-resistant, rust-proof, and capable of withstanding years of exposure to Alberta’s changing seasons.

These signs don’t just direct visitors—they define the experience. Clear mapping, vibrant colours, and legible typography make it easy for guests to navigate the park safely while appreciating the surrounding landscape. At Arttec Signs, we’re proud to create wayfinding systems like this that combine form, function, and endurance to enhance public spaces across the province.

Wayfinding That Works

Wayfinding signage is about more than just directions, it’s about experience. At Arttec Signs, we specialize in creating signage systems that guide visitors intuitively, improve accessibility, and enhance the overall flow of a space.

For a public space like Wabamun Waterfront Park, good wayfinding is essential. Families, tourists, and locals alike can easily find amenities, walking paths, and recreation areas without confusion. The result is a smoother, more enjoyable visit and a stronger connection to the park’s identity.

Our team worked closely with the client to ensure the layout, typography, and colours complemented both the park’s natural surroundings and municipal branding. The clean design, easy readability, and consistent structure make the signage both practical and visually engaging.

Built for the Outdoors

Durability was a top priority for this project. We know Alberta’s weather can be unpredictable, from summer heat to harsh winter winds, so every sign was engineered to withstand the elements. Aluminum panels were the perfect choice: lightweight yet strong, corrosion-resistant, and ideal for outdoor environments.

Each sign’s wrapped surface not only adds visual appeal but provides an extra layer of protection, ensuring vibrant graphics and crisp lettering remain intact for years. When combined with powder-coated aluminum posts, the result is a system that will continue to look as good as it performs.

Turning Spaces Into Experiences

Wayfinding signage does more than point the way, it transforms how people move through and experience a space. At Wabamun Waterfront Park, these signs do just that. They help visitors feel welcome, informed, and confident exploring all that the park has to offer.

For us at Arttec Signs, specialty projects like this are about more than fabrication, they’re about creating lasting value for communities. We take pride in helping municipalities and organizations bring clarity, beauty, and direction to public spaces.
