A Mural of Love and Legacy at the Stollery’s Rainbow Hallway

At Arttec Signs, we believe that every space has the potential to tell a story, and few projects capture that spirit better than the stunning mural we recently produced and installed in the Rainbow Hallway at Walter Mackenzie Hospital. Stretching over 21 feet long, this breathtaking piece is more than just artwork—it’s a journey filled with meaning, warmth, and hope.

The mural features a group of children walking towards the Stollery Children’s Hospital, symbolizing the strength, resilience, and courage of the young patients and families who enter its doors. Every detail was thoughtfully designed, including personal touches that make it even more special. One standout element is Leo the Lion, a tribute to radio personality Chris Scheetz’s granddaughter, Leona. Another touching addition is K+C carved into a tree, representing Chris and his wife, Karen—a beautiful nod to their deep connection to the Stollery community.

Chris recently shared his heartfelt appreciation for the mural on Instagram, calling it one of the most incredible moments of his life. He reflected on the many families, staff, and supporters who have made the Stollery what it is today, emphasizing how this space is dedicated to them as much as it is to him. His words remind us of the impact that art can have—not just in transforming a hallway, but in celebrating the stories, memories, and love that fill the hospital’s walls.

We are truly honored to have played a role in bringing this vision to life. This mural is a vibrant and lasting tribute to the strength of the Stollery community, and we hope it brings comfort and joy to everyone who walks through the Rainbow Hallway.
